Samoens is a beautiful tradtional village, unspoilt by tourist development. The village nestles in a wide sunny valley of the Giffre River, surrounded by mountains. It is very conveniently situated just over an hour from Geneva airport, and close to autoroutes.The village has direct access to the slopes with the Grand Massif Express Cable Car, built in 2003.
The Grand Massif ( Les Carroz, Morillon and Flaine) provides extensive skiing for all levels with almost no lift queues and stunning views of Mt Blanc and surrounding area. The Grand Massif are linked by 265km of pistes with 75 lifts.The highest lift is at 2480mtrs. The region boasts a really good snow record due to its geographic location. The ski area is varied and offers runs for all levels.
The ESF ski school Samoens has 1 meeting point at the top of the Grand Massif Express by the Kinder Garden. Children beginner skiers are well catered for. Samoens has a kindergarten up at the ski station for children from 3 years old.They can play in the snow or learn to ski in their own private area and when cold go inside. From the ge of 5 children are accepted into group ski lessons.

You can catch the ski bus which stops just outside the chalets and apartments.The free indoor heated pool is just heaven after a days skiing. For non skiers browse the traditional old village of Samoens - noted for its market.

By road : A40 from Geneva to Chamonix, Cluses- Scoinzier exit (no 18) Samoens is a 20 minute drive from this exit.
By train : train to Cluse then another 20km to Samoens by bus or taxis
By plane : Geneva then approx 1 hour to Samoens
