Right in the heart of the Aravis mountains, in Haute Savoie, Le Grand Bornand is situated between Mont Blanc and lake Annecy and is just an hour from Geneva airport.
The lower old village of Grand Bornand is a traditional old Savoyard village. whilst Le Chinaillon has all the advantages of a modern ski station with 90 km de piste covering 360 ha, 37 lifts for 43 pistes, a snowpark, ski de fond area with 62 km de pistes, and a domaine for snow shoe walking.
Try the outdoor skating rink, luge, cinema, floodlit skiing.
There is a good selection of retaurants and mountain restaurants, supermarket, boulangerie etc.
As this is the centre of Reblecon cheese making, visits to the fromagerie to see the cheese being made and to the famous Reblecon market, once a week, are popular with non skiers.
Enjoy a tour of the village from a horse drawn carriage.
Lessy Apartments
These new luxury apartments, opening December 2008/9 are just 100 m from the pistes and less from the pistes, in the heart of Chinaillon, the ski station of Grand Bornard in the Avaris mountains..
There are 115 appartements divided over 11 chalets with a welcoming and comfortable reception lounge, heated swimming pool and spa.
As well as the pool, the spa has jacuzzis, saunas, hammams, gym and a full range of beauty treatments are available (pay in resort for beauty treatments)
